Cookie Policy

How SailorDesk uses cookies.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser that help websites function securely and correctly.

2. Cookies we currently use

CSRF security token (session cookie): technically necessary for form security — prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. This cookie is deleted when you close your browser. No consent is required for technically necessary cookies under the ePrivacy Directive.

Session management (session cookie): used during the order and payment flow to maintain your session between pages. Deleted when you close your browser.

cookie_ok (browser localStorage, not a cookie): records whether you have dismissed our cookie information banner, so we do not display it on every page load. Storing a "banner-dismissed" flag does not require consent under ePrivacy Art. 5(3).

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. Analytics — Plausible (no cookies)

We use a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics to count page views and understand which pages of our site are useful.

Plausible is cookieless: it does not store any cookie or local-storage entry. It does not track visitors across sessions or sites, and does not build user profiles.

Visitor counts are derived from a hashed combination of IP address, user-agent, and the day. The hash salt rotates daily, so the same visitor cannot be re-identified across days. No personal data is shared with third parties for analytics purposes.

Plausible Analytics has been recognized by several EU data-protection authorities (e.g. CNIL in France) as not requiring consent under ePrivacy when used in this configuration.

4. Future cookies

If we add marketing cookies (e.g., Google Ads conversion, Meta Pixel) in the future, we will update this policy and request your explicit consent through a consent management banner before setting any non-essential cookies.

5. Managing cookies

You can restrict or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Disabling session cookies may prevent the order and payment flow from functioning correctly.
